Just what you trail enthusiasts have been waiting for! Ditch The City is proud to present the XTERRA Trail Race series in Georgia (Atlanta / Athens)! Join the excitement as the inaugural series will consist of three (3) events based out of the Atlanta area (Athens 2). Each race has something different to offer and as a matter of fact, you will come to know why we follow the creed 'Ditch the City'. Register for one, two or all three Atlanta races!
You can point qualify for the XTERRA Trail Run USA Championship (2008 Location TBA). We will be keeping track of the top finishers in each race event and awarding a Georgia (Atlanta / Athens) overall top male and female athlete in each age group. Participant bags and t-shirts will be provided at pre-race registration (each race). Top finisher medals will be presented to top 3 in each age group / category. XTERRA Racing Age - is age on December 31st, 2007. A competitor's age on this day is the age they will race all year long. Trail Run Series age groups are: Under 9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 +. For Example: If you are 29 years old, but turn 30 on December 20th, you will be racing in the 30-39 age group. Enter as many XTERRA Trail Runs as you can (5 here in Georgia (Atlanta 3, Athens 2). Accumulate Points - points are awarded to the top ten finishers in each age group at each race. All points will be totaled after the finish of the last Trail Run in your Series. Current standings will be posted to XTERRAPlanet.com after each event.   Count’em up! – Different than cross country – the most points wins!  The athlete with the most points – by gender and by age group – earns the title of XTERRA Regional Trail Run Series Champion.  Tie Breakers – ties in points standings will be settled by: 1) head to head competition (if only raced against each other once), 2) the winner of the most recent race.

We're excited to present the 1st Annual XTERRA Trail Race Series – Georgia at Conyers International Horse Park. Nestled in the woods of suburban Atlanta lies a true gem. Well groomed system of trails with gentle slopes and beautiful scenery will leave you breathless (if that doesn't, the 10k will).
Your race will commence on the “steeplechase” field to allow for proper separation then will hit the trails. Once you descend into the woods, you will forget your in the city. As a matter of fact, you will come to know why we follow the creed 'Ditch the City'.
ENTRY FEES
$30.00 (until January 15th, 2008). Anything received after January 15th, 2008 will require $10.00 late registration fee (no guarantee of T-Shirt with late registration). This event is limited to the first 500 registrants so sign up soon.
PACKET PICKUP
Packets pickup will be the morning of the race starting at 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Race starts at 8:30 a.m SHARP!
RACE COURSE
This is great single and double track off-road running experience. The race will start on the “steeplechase field” (required for spacing) but will soon lead into the woods. The terrain is rolling hills, single track, double track along with technical sections and creek crossings. The course is beautiful and offers something for every runner truly wishing to 'ditch the city'.

AWARDS
Awards will be given out when we have enough finishers in to fill the categories. Medals will be given out to the top three finishers in each category. Walkers are encouraged to participate; however, you should be able to complete the 10k at a 16 minute mile pace or under to receive an official time.

Well groomed system of trails with gentle slopes and beautiful scenery will leave you breathless (if that doesn't, the 13 miles will).
Your race will commence on the powerlines to allow for proper separation then will hit the trails. Once you descend into the woods, you will forget your in the city. As a matter of fact, you will come to know why we follow the creed 'Ditch the City'.
